HS Seniors can take this course to earn a TSI Waiver in English or Math. This waiver is accepted at Austin Community College.

What is HB5 College Prep?

High school students can take 1 or more College Prep courses and simultaneously earn credit for both their high school diploma and the TSI Waiver. Courses are taught on the high school campus by HS Teachers.

Who Can Participate?

Students enrolled in a public, private, charter, or homeschool high school who…

  • Have permission from the appropriate high school officials, and meet any admissions requirements set by their high school are a high school student (in the 12th Grade) at the time of enrollment.
  • Meet course prerequisite and placement requirements for HS English IV.

Benefits of HB5 College Prep?

HB5 College Prep allows students to progress toward their college goals by giving them the opportunity to earn a TSI Waiver at ACC.

Articulated Credit

Information for Articulated Credit

This program gives high school 9th – 10th graders the opportunity to receive college credit for a career and technology (CTE) course taken in high school. High school students can take these courses and simultaneously earn credit for both their high school diploma and their college degree.

What is Articulated Credit?

High school students can take a HS CTE Course and simultaneously earn credit for both their high school diploma and their college degree. Articulated Courses are taught on the high school campus by HS Teachers. Each ISD and Campus determines which courses they will request to be Articulated.

Who Can Participate?

This program is designed primarily for 9th and 10th graders but there are exceptions in certain Program Areas for 8th and 11th/12th graders.

Benefits of Articulated Credit?

Opportunity to explore a workforce field without the risk of affecting a college GPA Combining Articulation and Dual Credit allows students to attain or get very close to an OSA or Level 1 Certificate in a field. OSA / Level 1 Certificate do not require College Readiness It is free! With no book or other incidental fees.
