Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technology

The Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Technology (HART) Career Academy at Austin Community College offers high school students the chance to gain foundational skills and hands-on experience in the HART field. Through a combination of classroom instruction and lab-based training, students will learn how to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This program helps students kickstart their careers in the HVACR industry early, preparing them for entry-level roles or further education in the field.

Eligibility Requirements

  • This program is designed for rising high school juniors
  • Rising high school seniors may apply and complete the second half of the program after high school graduation.
  • “TSI complete” standing is not required.

Program Requirements

  • Earn at least a C in each ACC course.
  • Maintain an overall ACC grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Time commitment

  • 4 semesters
